Private Security Camera System Rebate and Voucher Program

This program offers rebates and vouchers of up to $150 available to qualifying registrants who’ve purchased a security camera system after June 1, 2020.

Baltimoreans who meet all the following criteria are eligible for the camera rebate:

• Bought a camera on or after June 1, 2020.
• Registered the camera with the CitiWatch Community Partnership.
• Installed the camera on the exterior a City-based residence (owned or rented) or small business .
• Submitted an application, agreeing to all terms and conditions.

Baltimoreans who meet all of the following criteria are eligible for the camera voucher:

• Willingness to register with the CitiWatch Community Partnership.
• Own or rent a City-based residence (small businesses are not eligible).
• Receive and are able to provide proof of receipt of public assistance.
• Submit an application, agreeing to all terms and conditions.

For rebate:

• You can ask for rebate for up to 2 camera systems bought after June 1, 2020.
• If you own a small business, you can ask for up to 3 camera systems.
• You can ask for more money back every 2 years if you already got money back before.

For money back:

• You can ask for money back for up to 2 camera systems bought after June 1, 2020.
• If you own a small business, you can ask for up to 3 camera systems.
• You can ask for more money back every 2 years if you already got money back before.

Data Privacy

• Your data will not be shared publicly.
• The police won't have live access but may ask for recorded footage.
• You don't have to provide footage if you don't want to unless a court mandates it.

What Your Camera Should Have

The city doesn't say which camera to buy. But your camera must:

• Work outside and in bad weather.
• Keep video for at least 48 hours.
• Meet the basic tech and video quality listed here:

Rebate Amounts:

• You'll get up to $150 or the actual cost of the system, whichever is less.
• The rebate only covers the camera cost and sales tax. Installation and extras are not included.

Voucher Amount:

• The voucher is worth $150.
• It covers the camera cost, sales tax, and installation. Extras are not included.

Please allow 6-8 weeks for the processing of the application for your rebate or voucher.
